There is still nothing official regarding the plot of the next film dedicated to the Jedi for the Star Wars universe, but new hints at what the project will potentially be come thanks to a new interview by Daisy Ridley (Rey Skywalker) for Empire.

A lot has changed since I got the role, I’m an adult, a lot of things have changed for me and I’ve grown professionally, I’ve had the opportunity to have a lot of different experiences” said the actress. “So this time everything seems to happen with a different approach. I always feel a lot of joy when I approach these films. To tell the truth, if I hadn’t been enthusiastic about the project I would never have accepted. It’s exciting to be part of all this“.

He then added:

This is why returning was not a difficult choice. Even though I didn’t say yes right away, Kathleen (Kennedy) reassured me and told me to take all the time I needed. Why shouldn’t I have accepted in the end? Yes, it’s true, some films were quite divisive, but in the end what matters is that they brought so much joy and love for the saga to many people.

It’s great to be able to play the character again, I wonder if I still remember how to do it. As an actress it’s an interesting challenge to go back to something you’ve already done and try to understand the new approach, versus what’s changed for me and what’s changed for her.

Daisy Ridley will return to play Rey in Star Wars by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, which will be set 15 years after the end of The Rise of Skywalker and will see Rey committed to rebuilding a new Jedi Order. According to the latest information, the film should arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026.
