Very positive day at the box office. Yesterday, Wednesday 27 March, Cinetel takings were 1,066,763 euros (162,294 spectators) on 2,634 screens, +78% compared to a year ago, and +97% compared to a week ago.
The top 10 is clearly in the lead Kung Fu Panda 4. Yesterday, in fact, the DreamWorks animated film benefited from the fact that from today schools are closed for the Easter holidays and ended the day with 442,188 euros, for a total of 4,782,114. The average of 1,084 euros per screen (408) is excellent.
The event closed its journey in the theater well in second position The Song Remain the Same, dedicated to the rock group Led Zeppelin; yesterday the box office was 128,808 euros for a total of 340,012 euros and an average of 616 euros per cinema (209).
Podium completed by Dune – Part 2 with 73,169 euros (-33%) for a total of 9,276,412 euros, with an average of 292 euros per structure (251). The goal of 10 million takings remains within reach of Denis Villeneuve’s blockbuster; much will depend on how it fares this holiday weekend.
Debut in fourth position than expected Priscilla by Sofia Coppola which starts with 55,982 euros and an average of 226 euros per cinema (248). With her films the American director has managed to exceed 3 million (Bling Ring, Lost in Translation) or the 2 million (Marie Antoinette, The Deception, Somewhere). How will this new film be positioned?
The re-release of continues its decidedly positive path in fifth position Fourth estate with 38,966 euros for a total of 153,446 euros in four days. Behind him another title that perhaps garnered more than one could have imagined on the eve; it’s about Race for Glory – Audi vs Lanciawith 35,688 euros (-49%) which brings the film set in the world of rallying to a total of 1,130,477 euros.
Seventh place for The area of interest which is still in the top 10 despite being in theaters since February 22nd. The collection yesterday was 33,753 euros (-45%) for a total of 4,238,455 euros. In eighth place we find Todd Haynes with May December which ends the day with 30,930 euros and reaches a total of 401,576 euros.
The documentary closes the top 10 Food for Profit with 19,390 euros and a considerable total of 245,289 euros and Another End with 18,315 euros and a total of 187,465 euros.
