01.07.2024 – 08.00 – There is time untilJuly 11th to apply for admission to the PhD course in Linguistics, promoted by Free University of Bolzano together with theUniversity of Verona and in collaboration with theARLeF-Regional Agency for the Friulian Language. Among the seven scholarships made available for attendance, one is reserved for the project on the comparative analysis of policies for the protection of Romansh, Ladin and Friulian.

The scholarship will be awarded to the best project in the thematic area of sociolinguistica which focuses on the legal protection and public language policies related to the minority languages ​​of Friulian, Dolomite Ladin and Grisons Romansh. The project will have to include a detailed analysis of the regulations and planning documents currently in force from a comparative point of view between the three realities.

The selection process includes an interview in which the research project presented will be discussed and the linguistic skills of the candidate will be assessed. In addition to Italian, a good knowledge of English (main teaching language) and German is required. Fluency in Friulian, Ladin and Romansh will be an advantage.

The attendance of the doctoral course it will then be divided into three years and will include a specific research activity to be carried out at theRegional agency for the Friulian languagefor a period of two months.

The doctoral course will train high-level scientific professionals and the doctoral students will be able to benefit from methodologies, tools and results developed in important research projects (PRIN, DFG, SNF, PNRR). Furthermore, a bilateral agreement has been stipulated with the University of Marburg which provides – to those selected for this ‘International Doctoral Track’ – the awarding of a double doctoral degree.

All specialist or master’s degrees are admitted to apply for participation in the competition for admission to the doctorate. AND 300 CFU (master’s degree) must be obtained. All information is available online at www.unibz.it.
