Brindisi: Theatre and music review “Verdi in Città”

It was presented this morning, in the Council Room Of City Palace a Toaststhe 2nd edition Of “Greens in the City”, an outdoor music and theatre festival scheduled between July and August, organised by the Municipality of Brindisi and from Apulian Public Theater in collaboration with the New Verdi Theater Foundation and the Library-Museum Centre Of Toasts. Admission is free. All shows will be held at ore 21 in Piazza Duomo in the space in front of the “Ribezzo” archaeological museum, except the dawn concert on August 11th. A journey that unites the languages ​​of music, literature and theatre, designed for audiences of all ages who decide to stay in the city.

The meeting was attended by the mayor of Brindisi, Giuseppe Marchionnathe project director of Brindisi’s candidacy as Italian Capital of Culture 2027, Chris Torchthe director of the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese, Holy Levantthe mayor’s advisor, Angel Romethe member of the Board of Directors of the Nuovo Teatro Verdi Foundation, Gianluca Bozzettiand the artistic director of the event, Carmelo Grassi.

It begins Friday, July 12 con Gaetano Colella in “Fallen Icarus”, directed by Enrico Messina. The show is the story of what happens after the fatal fall: after the crash into the sea Icarus does not die. A fisherman picks it up and brings it home to his wife. Icarus he grows up, revived, in a family from Puglia that watches him, feeds him, takes care of him. Around him a village teems with people curious to see up close what an angel fallen from heaven looks like. Icarus he has no doubts, as soon as he can walk he will reach Sicily and look for his father. A timeless story on stage: the complex, delicate and wonderful relationship that binds a son to a father.

Second appointment Thursday 18 July con “Cinema, Music, Jazz”. The magical atmosphere of a candlelight concert it will frame the square for a multi-sensory musical experience of great beauty and beauty. At the center of the evening was a trio, made up of Lisa Manosperti (voce), Mino Lacitignola (trunk) and Andrea Gargiulo (keyboards), with a program dedicated to the soundtracks of the most famous films in the history of cinema.

Silvia Lodi interpreta Nilde Iotti in “My Nilde”, show scheduled Friday 2 Augustwritten and directed by Paola Leone. The first female President of the Chamber of Deputies is awakened by the voices of a procession of women chanting feminist slogans. This is the excuse to bring back to life even just for fifty minutes a woman born one hundred years ago, who still has a lot to tell us. Dominic Clemente brings to the stage Friday 9 August “Heroes, Men & Gods”, a journey through time, between land and sea, through five thousand years of stories, myths and legends that speak of impostor and disrespectful Gods, of lazy and mythomaniac heroes, of desperate and braggart men. Between iterations of authentic Greek myths and urban legends, Clemente evokes the most famous characters of mythology, stripping them of their apparent sacredness and bringing them ever closer to everyday life and to the human race.

The Hammond organ combination of Saccomanno with the drums and percussions of By Lorenzo has already conquered a large number of audiences.
