In the splendid setting of Casa Diodoros, at the foot of the Temple of Concordia, a successful event with illustrious guests and a starred menu. The only discordant note: the plastic umbrellas that shielded the breathtaking view.

The tenth edition of Sicilia in Bolle came to life with the Gala Dinner. Event born from the intuition of the AIS of Agrigento and Caltanissetta, which has now become the most important regional event regarding the sparkling wine sector. The results highlight an increasingly growing sector. Several guests were present, starting with the journalist Federico Quaranta and Umberto Trombelli, the “Best sommelier of Lazio 2024”. Doing the honors were the AIS regional trustee Francesco Baldacchino and Lillo Trupia, AIS delegate for the provinces of Agrigento and Caltanissetta.

In the splendid setting of Casa Diodoros, at the foot of the suggestive Temple of Concordia, Chef Tony Lo Coco of the “I Pupi” restaurant (1 Michelin Star since 2014) and Chef Salvatore Gambuzza of “Torre del Barone – Mangia’s Resort” delighted the guests with a unique and emotional menu. The sommeliers have selected the matching wines for a complete sensorial experience.

It was a very pleasant evening in a unique and suggestive location. The only discordant note were the plastic umbrellas, which took away the charm of dining under the stars and shielded the breathtaking view of the Temple of Concordia. Many of those present, if not warned, had not noticed the presence of the Temple. If useful during the day to shield from the sun, these umbrellas did not seem appropriate in the evening. Perhaps we should think of sails or, better yet, a pergola, perhaps with aromatic plants or vines. But this, obviously, did not depend on the organizers of Sicilia in Bolle; the Casa Diodoros location is managed by the Archaeological Park authority.

The event continues with Tastings, conferences, masterclasses, producers and enthusiasts of Sicilian sparkling and sparkling wines, gathered on the white cliff of Scala dei Turchi. Great anticipation for the final evening this evening.
