Malpensa, 1 July 2024 – Material from Breaking Bad, which would have made thousands of consumers looking for a chemical high “happy”. And which, instead, was intercepted before ending up in the laboratories of small criminal chemists, intent on flooding the market with tablets.
Over 6 tons (6,300 kilos) of Chemical “ingredients” to refine ecstasy were stopped at Malpensa by the Guardia di Finanza of Varese. This is the outcome of the “Molecola” operation which, starting from an initial seizure of 80 packages intercepted at the Cargo City of the international airport in 2022, allowed the men of the Fiamme Gialle to crush a “potential” traffic of 63 million MDMA tabletswith a market value of approximately 630 million euros.
After intercepting the cargo, the military carried out a “controlled delivery” following the packages to the address of the first recipient, a company with registered office in Milan but with operational base in Caronno Pertusellain the Saronno area.
Eurojust international cooperation made it possible to launch further investigations in the Netherlands, which led to the identification a drug storage warehouse. Here the investigators recovered 38 boxes, in which another 75 kilos of molecules used to refine drugs were kept. The judicial police investigations in Dutch territory allowed them to arrest two Chinese citizens.
In addition to the two, the notice of conclusion of the preliminary investigations was notified to the legal representative of the Milanese company who imported the shipments to Italy. The man is accused of having personally supervised all the operations for the arrival in Italy of the chemical molecules, which he would have subsequently resold in Holland.
