Despite starting from 24th position after the penalties inflicted on him during qualifying on Friday afternoon, today – Saturday 29 June – the driver from Piacenza who races in Formula 3, Leonardo Fornarolionce again managed to amaze everyone at the Austrian Grand Prix.

The Sprint Race was in fact held on the Spielberg circuit: the talented Team Trident, currently leading the championship, as per strategy, today “only” had to push as much as possible without excessive tactics. No sooner said than done: Fornaroli wanted to demonstrate that that place on the grid doesn’t suit him and he succeeded with overtaking, 12, in a total of 16 laps. In all likelihood, without the two safety cars that reduced the laps available, he would have returned to the Top Ten with points.

“I’m satisfied – commented the driver at the end of the race – especially because, despite starting from the back, we managed to create a very fun race. In particular, I completed quite a few overtakings: ‘body to body’ has always been a weak point of mine and I’m happy to have asserted myself by taking advantage of this fundamental. It’s a shame for the two safety cars that didn’t allow us to complete all the available laps, but despite this it was still a good comeback. It gives us a lot of energy for tomorrow.” In fact, the decisive Feature Race is scheduled for Sunday 30 June and Fornaroli has every intention of stealing the show once again.
