The commander of the Cesenatico branch of the Guardia di Finanza is the best commander in central-northern Italy, which for the Guardia di Finanza includes Emilia-Romagna, Marche and Tuscany. Michele Roberto, lieutenant special charges, during the solemn celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the foundation of the Guardia di Finanza, held high the name of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Forlì-Cesena and of course that of Cesenatico. In the setting of Piazza di Siena in Rome, Roberto was awarded by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, in the presence of the top authorities of the Guardia di Finanza and the highest political, civil and military officials of the country. President Mattarella gave him a commendation, granted to him by the general commander of the Guardia di Finanza, General of the Army Corps Andrea De Gennaro, for the meritorious command action in protecting economic-financial legality in the territory of competence, which allowed the Romagna branch to achieve brilliant operational results. On this special occasion, the Head of State personally awarded the six lieutenancy commanders who have distinguished themselves, in the last year, throughout the national territory for their commendable contribution, thus giving solemn recognition to the operational action of those departments that, acting on the front line, ensure economic control of the territory every day to protect citizens. The many congratulatory messages sent to Michele Roberto were joined by the personal satisfaction of the provincial commander of the Guardia di Finanza of Forlì-Cesena, Colonel Vito Pulieri, who proposed the candidacy of Lieutenant Roberto for the important recognition, which is a source of pride and satisfaction for all the Guardia di Finanza of Forlì-Cesena. Michele Roberto, a graduate in Economics and Commerce, married, with one son, has 39 years of service, 33 of which were in Emilia Romagna (Bologna, Mirandola and Cesena) and 6 between Rome and Naples. During his career he has distinguished himself in economic-financial police services and in the fight against organized crime. Among these, he initiated the Radici operation that allowed the Bologna District Anti-Mafia Directorate to subject 23 people operating in Cesenatico and other cities in Emilia-Romagna, linked to ndrangheta clans, to precautionary and interdictory measures. Previously, he had dealt with fraud carried out by the Chinese mafia in the footwear sector, investigations into tax evasion linked to Cesena football club and fraud against actress Gina Lollobrigida.
