In the Municipality of A landslide occurred in Usseglio which blocked traffic. Investigations are underway by the Carabinieri and Fire Brigade to check if there are people or vehicles involved.
Meanwhile, the effects of the storms that began in the afternoon in Valle d’Aosta continue. The municipality of Cogne is isolated due to a brake registered in the hamlet of Epinel, along the regional road that leads to the town at the foot of the Gran Paradiso. Traffic is also banned along the municipal roads of Valnontey – due to a landslide in Teuf – and Lillaz. The municipality has around 1,300 residents, as well as holidaymakers and tourists. Several floods have been recorded in the lower Aosta Valley, in particular between Verrès and Ayaswith firefighters involved in over 12 interventions. For the day, the Valle d’Aosta Regional Functional Center has issued a “yellow” alert for hydrogeological criticality linked to the ongoing storms.
Thunderstorms and cloudbursts affected the afternoon the Alpine valleys of Turin and Canavese. A See a hailstorm was also reported. The storm front then moved towards the northern part of the region. Another landslide was reported in the Susa Valley. The event occurred in the territory of the Municipality of Oulxin the Royeres hamlet. The cloudbursts were persistent in the Orco Valley and in the Lanzo Valleys. The watercourses swelled as did the Ceresole Reale lake.
