Trieste, 29 June 2024. After two weeks of rest, following the final win against Cantù, the Trieste Basketball is approaching the LBA market. After saying goodbye to Ariel Filloy and Giovanni Vildera, both of whom remained in A2, the first with the newly promoted Akern Libertas Livorno1947, while the second with Valtur Brindisi, it is time for new arrivals. GM Michael Arcieri enters the market by immediately landing a big move, an important name, who will bring experience, versatility and athleticism to the court of Jamion Christian: that of Jeffrey Brooks.
Jeffrey Brooks
Born on June 12, 1989 in Louisville, Kentucky, 203 cm and 100 kg, he is a strong forward who can cover both the 4 and 5 spots. His ability to shoot both from outside and in the paint, combined with a flexibility that it allows him to defend multiple roles, making him a very useful and dangerous player. After his university career at Lions Of Pennsylvania StateBrooks played for several Italian teams, including CantuCaserta, Sassari, Olympiad Milano and finally at Reyer Venezia. Abroad he has experience with Avtodor Saratovin the Russian VTB, e Unicaja Malaga in Spain.
In 2017 it also acquired the Italian citizenship following his marriage and was called to the national team by coach Meo Sacchetti, just in time for the 2019 FIBA World Cup and Qualifiers.
His list of achievements includes one scudetto (in Sassari), four Italian Super Cups (2013 with Cantù, 2015 with Sassari, 2019 and 2021 with Milan), two Italian Cups (2015 Sassari, 2021 Milan), un’EuroCup (Malaga 2017). In the last season he played with Reyer Venezia 32 gare between the Championship, the Italian Cup and the Playoffs, getting on the scoresheet 5.6 points and conquering 4 rebounds per race, consistently demonstrating great energy and dedication to serving the team.
