Once the disappointment of not being promoted to A2 has passed, for the Pielle Livorno it’s time to look to the future. With the technical staff defined and the arrival of the first players, we also have to think about defending the Super Cup of which the white and blues are the holders. And on September 21, coach Campanella’s boys will take to the field in the first semifinal of the final four that awards the first trophy of the season, this year in its fifth edition and returned to its original formula.
The opponent will be Ruvo di Puglia, which Campori and his teammates defeated in the final act last September. On the other side of the draw, Herons Montecatini (winner of the Italian Cup against Libertas) and Pallacanestro Roseto (finalist of the playoffs) will compete. The winners will then face each other in the match that will award the cup on September 22. As for the A2 series, here are the pairings of the final four: Pallacanestro Cantù-Orzibasket Orzinuovi and Fortitudo Bologna-Pallacanestro Forlì. Serie B national, the dates of the 2024-2025 season
As for the championship, in the qualifying phase the teams will be divided into 2 days of 21 teams and will compete with home and away matches for a total of 42 matches. The first day will be played on September 29, the last on April 27 with playoffs and playouts that will be played starting from the following week. The teams classified from ninth to twelfth place will be admitted to the Play in. The teams that win the Play in and those classified from 1st to 6th place at the end of the qualifying phase will access the playoffs. The winners of the promotion play-offs will go up to A2 while the third promotion will be determined by a play-off on neutral ground between the two losers of the playoff finals.
The two teams ranked 21st in the two groups will be directly relegated to the interregional Serie B. The teams ranked 17th to 20th will enter the playouts and will face each other in cross-groups. The losers will be relegated to the lower series.
