Borghetto Santo Spirito. This year marks the seventieth year of uninterrupted activity that began way back in 1954 at the Arena Vittoria. Born from the dream of two young Renata and Umberto Musso fascinated by Cinema and continued to this day by their daughter Elga MUsso thanks also to the great help of its members Rosanna Rinaldi and Marco Tripodi.
The municipal administration has always shown an active collaboration with the Cinema Vittoria and thanks to the sensitivity and availability of the Mayor Giancarlo Canepa and his councillors, to celebrate the milestone of 70 years, an exhibition will be organized in the Marexiano Room, in front of the Cinema which will have the title “Woman’s gaze: the divas of Italian cinema”. The Borghetto Cultural Forum and the friends of Vittoria cinema contributed passionately to setting it up. Film posters from 1950 to the 80s chosen by the two curators will be exhibited Tripod Frameie Lorenzo Zucchetta, featuring the most beloved stars of Italian cinema accompanied by various materials such as projectors, films, photos and period documents. The exhibition will be inaugurated on the afternoon of Saturday 13 July with the presence of the authorities and will remain open until the end of August.
The season will open on Saturday with “Inisde Out 2” scheduled until July 1st. Followed by “C’è Ancora Tomorrow” (July 2nd), “Me against you” (July 3rd), “Unanotro ferragosto” (July 4th ).
Not only children’s and family films are planned, but also arthouse films. As every year, the arthouse film festival “Premio Pittaluga” curated by Giancarlo Giraud will be held at the end of July with the screening of 3 films: POOR CREATURES, THE BOY WITH THE HERON, CHALLENGERS. Experts in the sector will be present. Please note that the cinema has 500 seats and has 400 indoor seats and in case of bad weather the show will not be interrupted.
The Municipality of Borghetto has also chosen the Arena Vittoria for its theatrical and cultural season which includes 5 shows between July and August: 11 July (Question of the heart – From the letters of the heart – with (Lella Costa); 15 (Disconcerting stories – with Dario Vergassola); 9 August (Ancestors The grave party – with Mark Paulini); 13 (Beyond Oil – A Show on Climate and Environment – ​​With PAtrizio Roversi); • AUGUST 27 (But luckily Gaber was there – with Joel Dix). There will also be five meetings with the author: on July 17th (Alberodotati d’Italia…meeting with Tiziano Fratus); 27 (All the life that remains.. meeting with Roberta Recchia); 4 August (The days of glass… meeting with Nicoletta Verna); 17 (Demagonia… meeting with Mario Monti) and 20 August (On the spider’s side… meeting with Cristina Rava).
