Il Friuli Venezia Giulia today experienced an event of great importance: the ceremony of change of commander of the Carabinieri Legion of the region. The collaboration between the Carabinieri force and local institutions have been at the center of this important change, underlining the importance of community safety and well-being.
The link between the weapon and the Region
The Finance Councilor of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Barbara Zilli, reiterated during the ceremony the solid bond between the Army and the Region. This relationship is based on loyal and cohesive collaboration, with the aim of guaranteeing greater security in the area and deep respect for those who wear the uniform and defend the Republic. “The values of Benemerita, of self-denial and sacrifice, the spirit of service and always being there, are shared by the entire regional community”said Zilli.

Change of command
The ceremonyheld at the “Attilio Basso” barracks in Udinesaw the brigadier general Francesco Atzeni to give up command al Brigadier General Gabriele Vitagliano. Atzeni, who will assume command of the Autonomous Department of the General Command of Rome, was thanked for his dedication and contribution to the territory during his three years of service. His sensitivity in understanding the social and cultural context of Friuli-Venezia Giulia was particularly appreciated, as demonstrated by the Arma Calendar produced in the Friulian language.
Welcome to the new commander
The new commander, Brigadier General Vitagliano, coming from the Provincial Command of Florence, received a warm welcome. Barbara Zilli expressed appreciation for his words of praise towards local institutions and assured the maximum collaboration from the regional administration. “As an Administration we guarantee him and all his men and women maximum collaboration, to help maintain the values and principles of our communities”declared Zilli, also bringing the governor’s greetings Massimiliano Fedriga.
