Digital: growing rate of digitalization of SMEs in Abruzzo

Rome, 29 June. The rate of digitalisation is growing in Abruzzo, particularly on the business front: thanks to the Digital Innovation Hubs, more than 50 small and medium-sized businesses have invested in 4.0 technologies such as big data, cloud, cybersecurity, IoT, 3D printing, and collaborative robots. This is what emerges from the data from Confindustria Abruzzo presented at the Digital Summer Conference, an event promoted by MBA Nexus Hub (association of MBA students of the Luiss Business School) and scheduled until Sunday in Francavilla al Mare, in the province of Chieti.

Still in the field of technologies, Abruzzo is a leader in the availability of open data with a score of 81.4, even if the interaction between the public administration and citizens needs to improve. “Abruzzo is emerging as a dynamic region: businesses, in particular SMEs, respond more and more frequently to the new opportunities that are emerging in the area: at the Digital Summer Conference we are experiencing growing interest, with particular attention to development of new technologies, starting with artificial intelligence”, explain the event promoters Marco Triacca, Leonardo Picco and Amedeo De Pace.

Overall, the Region is in the middle of the national rankings, showing good performance in some indicators in the face of digital needs that are still important: 46% of families, in fact, do not use broadband due to its high cost, a fact that is problematic especially for rural areas.
