LADISPOLI – The (unexpected) blow has been served. And it is not a nice gift for the citizens who will find themselves with a 16% increase in the Tari on their bill. The Municipality needs to spread out over 1 million and 200 thousand euros «for Istat revisions and other increases», is the explanation provided by the majority. An increase that was not appreciated by the opposition who also walked out of the room in a showy way with the city councilors Ferdinando Cervo, Amelia Mollica Graziano, Alessio Pascucci, Roberto Garau and Daniela Ciarlantini. And hours later they prepared scorching press releases, starting with Ladispoli Attiva. «This increase – signed the councilors Fabio Paparella and Gianfranco Marcucci – comes in a context of growing dissatisfaction with the waste collection service, which many residents judge to be inefficient and full of problems. A service that has been getting worse. The city has never been so dirty and degraded». The issue of the bonuses that never arrived for virtuous citizens who differentiated better also comes back into play. «The administration had announced the start of the Tarip, or the punctual tariff – they add – but this never really started. No solution was found to incentivize citizens who live in condominiums to differentiate, effectively excluding them from the bonuses and creating an evident disparity of treatment among residents». Controversy galore. «In recent years – claims the Circolo Sinistra Italiana

Litorale Nord “Mahsa Amini” – we had been accustomed to discounts for citizens, with the usual social proclamations, of 2.5%, of 4 up to a total of 11.5. In reality, many citizens, of these discounts on the bill have never noticed. The speculation of unjustified increases is rampant in every sector”. Criticism for the lack of transparency. “We could not expect anything good from this administration – adds the Csi -, the lack of information to the citizen regarding the correct disposal of waste goes hand in hand with the poor cleanliness of the city and of which, according to the mayor, we should be satisfied. With the privatization of public greenery, shouldn’t we have saved? How come then we pay extraordinary maintenance to other companies that are not Tekneko?”. The councilor for Hygiene and Environment tries to calm things down. “Contracts must be updated by law – explains Marco Pierini – but perhaps these aspects, including the Istat revision, escape the opposition. In the new financial plan there is not a single euro more in expenses related to the service or initiatives undertaken, in fact we managed to save 300 thousand euros. Unfortunately this did not prevent us from increasing the cost due to inflation, for the rates changed retroactively by the Region and for the contracts linked to the delivery platforms that concern dry and wet waste”. Pierini lists the extra expenses. “Not wanted by us – he reiterates – but for the deficit of 416 thousand euros in 2023, for 688 thousand euros this year and then there is the off-balance sheet debt of 263 thousand euros to consider, again for the updates of the Region for the delivery”.
