On the night between June 27 and 28, a 13-year-old girl went with her mother to the police station to report an alleged gang rape.. The matter, on which the Taranto Flying Squad investigators are working, is still shrouded in maximum secrecy.
According to the limited information that has emerged, the girl said she had escaped from a community together with a 17-year-old friend. The latter allegedly contacted two foreign friends, with whom they then headed towards an isolated area in the countryside. It is there that, according to the 13-year-old, the sexual acts that she tried to refuse took place. For hours, the police, under the guidance of deputy commissioner Luigi Vessio, collected the statements of the victim and her mother, before accompanying them to the hospital for medical checks.
Investigations began immediately in search of those responsible. The investigators are listening to various witnesses and will soon hear from the 13-year-old again in a protected manner, with the presence of a psychologist. The matter has been entrusted to the public prosecutor Francesca Colaci, who is coordinating the investigative activities.
According to the Gazzetta, the girl was a guest of a community after being removed from her familyresident in a municipality in the province of Taranto, whose name has not been disclosed to protect the victim.
It is unclear how long the nightmare lasted or what role the other minor involved played. Investigators are trying to clarify these aspects to reconstruct the dynamics of the facts and determine responsibilities. The 13-year-old provided an identikit of the alleged attackers, whom law enforcement is trying to identify and track down.

Officers are reconstructing the girls’ movements after they escaped from the community and are also analyzing the circumstances of the escape itself to understand how the minors managed to leave the facility.
