On its way: the Municipality of Ancona is not backing down an iota and to give a worthy football future to the capital, the municipal council has already made it known that it will proceed quickly only through the notice published a few days ago to welcome the proposals of interest from potential buyers. Buyers who are already there, but who remain top secret for the moment: something certain will surely be known on Monday, when at nine in the morning all the documentation presented by the subjects who have expressed their interest will be examined. The certified emails will in fact arrive at the municipal offices by Saturday, after which they will be verified by the mayor Daniele Silvetti, who will return to work after the slight illness that struck him in recent days. What is known for sure is that eight expressions of interest have been received so far: two from northern Italy and as many from Rome, while the rest are Ancona and regional groups. One of these groups had expressed the desire to register the team in the Eccellenza championship: a proposal that was obviously immediately rejected by the Municipality, which is doing everything to guarantee that the next Ancona team will participate in the next Serie D in excess of the number of players. The same group would have then also inquired about the debt situation of the old company, before the closing between Francesco Agnello and Tony Tiong. One thing, however, seems certain: Agnello’s Us Ancona, which acquired 95% of the shares from Tiong himself, will not be taken into consideration in the slightest. Unless Agnello himself decides to participate in the Municipality’s tender, a completely remote possibility and one that the offices of Palazzo del Popolo have already categorically denied, not having received any certified email from the Campania entrepreneur: the only interlocutors for the Municipality remain the FIGC and the territory. In short, this time there seems to be no room for backtracking or second thoughts: the council continues to work to quickly guarantee the city a team that can compete in the next Serie D championship (deadline set for July 4). Time is running out and it is no longer the time for winks: the mayor has already received enough and now he just wants to put pen to paper to guarantee Ancona Sporting a serious and reliable company. All that remains is to wait until Monday morning, when all the proposals will finally be examined, choosing the one that offers the most guarantees: and which will above all have to provide in the shortest time possible for the payment of 400 thousand euros, a conditio sine qua non to participate in the next fourth division championship. Ancona football continues to hold its breath: after having suffered yet another outrage to its ultra-centenary history, it will finally understand if the conditions exist to attempt yet another rebirth and a quick return to that professional football inexplicably abandoned a few weeks ago. While we wait for those responsible for this outrage to clarify once and for all how things really happened, the priority remains the future: the game has entered its final stages and now there can be no more mistakes.
