PESARO While waiting for the official announcement of Matteo Imbrò who has already signed, Vuelle continues its transfer market and has practically chosen the first of the two foreign players who will be included in this season’s roster. It is the American guard Khalil Ahmad who last season was a protagonist in the Belgian championship with Ostend: it is practically done for him too.

In recent days, the technical and management staff have done a great deal of work, so much so that the red and white club is reportedly in the details with the 202 cm tall wing-center Danilo Petrovic, born in 1999, a player born in Serbia, precisely in Vrsac, but of Italian education, who last season wore the Rieti jersey. His first experience in Italy was with Virtus Bologna in A2 in the 2016/2017 season. In the black Vu at just 17 years old he plays an average of 8 minutes per game. In 2017 he was the protagonist of the victory with his Serbia at the U18 European Championship. For a year he cut his teeth in Ortona in Serie B (68% from two) after which, since 2018, he plays permanently in Legadue between Montegranaro, Forlì and Cento where he maintains the double digits of points scored per game and significantly improves his score from the arc (44%). In the 2021/2022 season he plays for Kleb Ferrara which, also thanks to his percentages, reaches the playoffs (9.0 points average per game, 40.3% from three and 66.7% from two). In Ravenna, he stood out as one of the best in the unfortunate Romagna championship, also showing off his best performance in a single game, on 5 March 2023 against Mantua: 28 points scored with 8/9 from two, 4/4 from three.

At this point, to close the roster if the deal with Danilo Petrovic, as it seems, will go through, only three players are missing: the second foreigner, a big man and the tenth man. Coach Stefano Sacripanti and his entire staff, together with the latest arrival Nicola Egidio, have worked hard in recent weeks and often even beyond the usual hours, staying up late, to try to immediately set up a competitive team, which can immediately try to aim for the top of the standings. The new Vuelle will have a lot of experience on its side, given that up to now all the players who have arrived already know the next championship very well and even those waiting for official confirmation are certainly not kids at their first steps, despite for example Khalil Ahmad it will be his first season in an Italian championship, but certainly not in Europe, and therefore he already knows some things very well. The chapter on Giovanni Vildera has been closed. The player has left his contract with Trieste and will wear the Brindisi jersey, which from next season will have Valtur as its main sponsor.

Nardò has announced the return of the Senegalese center of the Italian formation Elhadji Thioune and the confirmation of Lazar Nikolic. The newly promoted Avellino has announced the arrival of Lucas Maglietti last season at Bakery Piacenza. Rimini has instead confirmed one of the two foreigners from last season, it is the center wing Justin Johnson. Cantù has instead made official the two-year agreement with the former Brindisi Jonas Riisma. Livorno has instead announced the former Vuelle Ariel Filloy, eager to get closer to home. The first foreigner in view of the next season for Udine is the American Xavier Johnson, last season in Forlì and seen in A1 also with Verona. Piacenza has instead renewed with Federico Bonacini.
