While waiting for the 111th Tour de France to pass by, Alessandria Città delle Biciclette, with the patronage and in collaboration with the Municipality, is organizing a great tribute event to Marco Pantani, on Sunday 30 June at Palazzo Monferrato, via San Lorenzo 21. From 3:00 pm, the event will see the opening of the ACdB Museum for a visit to the temporary exhibition “Accoppiata Giro-Tour” which highlights the bicycles of Marco Pantani, Ivan Gotti and Vincenzo Nibali.

At 5pm, in the courtyard of Palazzo Monferrato, open party and big celebration to reveal an unpublished work of art, a limited edition art print of the“champion” illustrator Francesco Porolirecently awarded the gold medal of the Society of Illustrator of NY. It is a celebratory work of the unforgettable Marco Pantani, printed in silkscreen in only fifty copies by the Print Club Torino laboratory, with the conception and artistic direction of Inchiostro Festival. The work, from its birth to its realization, will be at the center of an event that transforms the courtyard of Palazzo Monferrato into a silkscreen laboratory. At 6:00 pm the event continues with a talk, the writer and journalist James Pelizzari will present his book “The Pirate’s Map” (Cairo Editore, 2024) telling this “Sentimental Guide to the places of Pantani”, for an encounter with cycling literature. The event will be followed by a copy-signing session and aperitif at the nearby Andando e Stando bookshop in via Bissati.

5pm opening party Inchiostro Festival and presentation of the limited edition art print illustrated by Francesco Poroli
6:00 pm presentation with the author Giacomo Pellizzari of the book “La mappa del Pirata” (Cairo Editore, 2024). Followed by a book signing and aperitif with the author in collaboration with the Andando e Stando bookshop in Alessandria, a few steps from Palazzo Monferrato.
