The Canottieri Pesaro will celebrate throughout the day today, the 70th year since its foundation, which took place way back in 1954. The event aims to celebrate the evocative and particular history of the company, and promote rowing and rowing sports, in particular towards young people (but not only), strengthen the sense of community, social and environmental responsibility, encourage opportunities for collaboration and partnership with local realities, as well as discuss vision and future projects that can give impetus to the rowing sport, enhancing the environment and values of the Pesaro association. The headquarters in Calata Caio Duilio n.101 will be open all day with an exhibition of boats, including the legendary and almost centenary Jole 8 (photo), entirely made of wood, a photographic exhibition and scrolling videos. You will be able to see, and even try, the rowing simulators, in the company of the company’s technicians and athletes. It ends with an event at 9pm on the terrace of the headquarters, in which the local authorities will participate, starting with the new mayor Andrea Biancani and the councilor for sport and urban construction Mila Della Dora. Guest of honor was the President of the Italian Rowing Federation, and multiple Olympic champion, Giuseppe Abbagnale. The particular context of Pesaro Capital of Culture 2024 in which it falls gives this beautiful event even more relevance and meaning, as evidenced by the various patronages received: from that of the Italian Rowing Federation to that of the Municipality of Pesaro and Pesaro Capital of Culture 2024 .
