Over 80 events organized by the Municipal Administration of Sammichele in collaboration with the Puglia Region, the Metropolitan City of Bari, the Associations and the productive activities of the territory. The 2024 edition of the Estate Sammichelina was presented this morning at the headquarters of the Regional Presidency in Bari.
The project aims to promote the territory through culture, history and food and wine activities. The program of events revolves around the Caracciolo Castle, home of the Museum of Rural Civilization ‘Dino Bianco’.
Sammichelina Summer started with ‘The Romantic Night in one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy’, on the evening of June 22, 2024. An opportunity to celebrate love and romance in the magic of the squares and alleys.
The calendar includes suggestive events throughout the season. In collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Bari, two concerts by the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra will be held (‘Al sole di Sicilia’ on 12 June and ‘Vento d’Estate’ on 24 July).
The Sammichelina Summer 2024 sees the second edition of the theatrical review of brilliant comedy ‘Sorrisi Nel Borgo’ (6 companies will compete on 26-27 June, 3-17-18-22 July; the Grand Awards Gala is scheduled for 25 July) .
The event ‘Shall we dance?’ is confirmed: three events (5-12 and 19 July), for the valorization of the dance schools of the territory. The Regional Festival of the Voice is back, organized in collaboration with the Pro Loco ‘Dino Bianco’. Three evenings are scheduled (6-13-21 July) in which young talents will compete on the notes of great musical successes.
A new feature for Summer 2024 is the passage from Sammichele di Bari of the Milan–Taranto, a re-enactment for vintage motorcycles in stages that has crossed Italy since July 1987. On July 13, there will be a time control with a stop and refreshments for participants at Piazza Vittorio Veneto.
In Tango Festivalito returns again this year. On 26 and 27 July the magical atmospheres of tango will enliven Piazza Vittorio Veneto.
From July 30th to August 3rd, in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, the fourth edition of the Sammichele Music Festival will be held, this year’s guests will be: July 30th Alexia, July 31st Clara, August 1st Haddaway, August 2nd Nina Zilli, August 3rd Boomdabash.
Another novelty for Summer 2024: the Borgo dei Desideri on August 10th. Magical night, that of San Lorenzo, on August 10th, in which wishes come true.
The Bari in Jazz festival stops again in Sammichele di Bari, on 22 and 24 August, in the magical setting of the Caracciolo Castle. Everything takes place thanks to a project by the Abusuan Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, the Puglia Region, Pugliapromozione and the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese.
The Castello di Libri award reaches its third edition. Format conceived by the Municipality of Sammichele di Bari and Radici Future Produzioni. The awarded guests will be: Enrica Simonetti on September 5, Leonardo Palmisano on September 6 and Valentina Petrini on September 7.
The Factory Film Festival (12-13 and 14 September) will open its doors to art and music. It was born from the collaboration with illustrious partners: the Academy of Fine Arts of Bari, the Apulia Film Commission and the ISS Rosa Luxemburg.
The Sammichelina Summer 2024 will culminate with the 58th edition of the Sagra della Zampina, del Bocconcino e del Buon Vino (September 27-28 and 29). It has always been one of the most important and well-known events of Apulian food and wine, attracting, from all over Italy and beyond, many enthusiasts who reach Sammichele di Bari to appreciate, in addition to the culinary specialties, also the musical entertainment of the highest quality.
The summer program is completed and enriched by: conferences, film screenings, book presentations, photography and painting exhibitions, markets of artisanal products and zero-mile products, dance halls, and events connected to the tradition of the Sanmichelino carnival.
