Modica is preparing to experience one of its most heartfelt holidays with renewed enthusiasm and a series of events that promise to pay homage to San Pietro, patron saint of the city together with San Giorgio. The municipal administration, at the urging of the economic development department, has decided to strengthen the feast of St. Peter, transforming it into an even more attractive and engaging event.
A Program Full of New Features
This year, the stalls that will enrich the streets of Modica will be almost doubled compared to the past, offering visitors a wide range of local products and specialties. The expansion of the market to support the religious event is just one of the many new features introduced for this edition of the festival.
This Saturday evening, the heart of Modica Bassa will be animated by a tribute concert to Queen, one of the most loved bands of all time. This musical event represents a unique opportunity for all fans to relive the emotions of the songs that have made the history of rock.
Furthermore, Valentina Romani, the actress of the famous series “Mare Fuori”, will be present for the “Scenari” festival, adding a touch of glamor and culture to the event. Her participation is highly anticipated and will help make the party even more special.
The Procession and Transport
The highlight of the festival will be, as always, the solemn procession with the simulacrum of St. Peter. A moment of deep devotion and tradition that sees the participation of the entire Modica community.
To facilitate access and participation in the events, the administration has set up a shuttle bus service. This will allow us to avoid transit and parking problems, especially given the closure of Modica Bassa to allow the celebrations to take place in complete safety.
An Important Relaunch
Councilor Tino Antoci underlined the importance of this edition of the feast of San Pietro: “After some time we have tried to strongly revitalize this important feast for the city after a few years. A real relaunch.. Antoci also recalled the peculiarity of the baroque church of San Pietro, with its imposing “Santoni” along the steps, which represent one of the most characteristic and fascinating elements of the cultural heritage of Modica.
