RenOils, one of the active subjects in Italy for the recovery of exhausted cooking oils and fats, has released the 2024 report with data relating to 2023, from which emerges not only the overall national increase in collection and collection points (58.5 million kg in 61,387 collection points), but also the precious work carried out in the territories.

In Basilicata the overall collection was 174,151 kg at the 483 collection points, in Potenza more than half of the used oils were collected (117,413 kg).

RenOils relies on a widespread network of operational partners, consisting of 34 companies involved in collection and 18 regeneration plants.

Also among the objectives of the Consortium greater awareness among families: to date, in fact, the total amount of waste recovered in homes represents 32% of the total, the remainder from commercial activities, canteens and other catering sectors.

Explains Ennio Fano, President of RenOils:

“For this reason, we have intensified relations with the Municipalities in order to facilitate and increase separate waste collection.

The response of citizens in the villages and smaller territories is always very positive, so we will continue to implement further awareness-raising actions to maximize separate waste collection.

In the year 2023 the activity of the RenOils Consortium has grown and we increased the overall collection.

As always, I would like to thank all the consortium operators for their active collaboration, which was essential for the success”.
