GIULIANOVA. “The best ever”. For the mayor Jwan Costantini the municipal council that will accompany him in his second term, presented yesterday morning in the council chamber, “is a team that will immediately demonstrate that it can do important things and that it knows how to do them well”. After having expressed his best wishes for good work to the new councilors, Costantini proceeded with the officialization of the delegations, “assigned”, he said, “in compliance with the popular will”, that is, using the electoral consensus of the chosen ones as the prevailing criterion. There were no surprises compared to the previews that appeared in various press organs, including the center, in recent days. The Costantini bis council sees the confirmation of three councilors from the previous mandate (Giorgini, Albani and Di Carlo), the “promotion” to councilor – and with very heavy powers – of the former president of the municipal council Francioni and only one real novelty, which however he is a very well-known name in Giulia politics, that is Nausicaa Cameli. Only two councilors are representatives of the centre-right parties, the other three are civic.
A Matteo Francioni (Brothers of Italy) include the position of vice mayor and the delegations to public works, maintenance, school buildings, large public works and strategic works; Lydia Albani (Forza Italia), formerly Costantini’s deputy for the past five years, confirms the delegations held in the previous council: social policies, housing policies, equal opportunities, childhood policies, civil protection, youth policies, twinning, cemetery services, public education. Three councilors from the “Giulianova Turismo” list, the most voted on June 8 and 9, which in the assignment of executive roles has effectively cannibalized the other civic lists of the coalition: Paul Giorginiwho has been given powers over the budget, personnel, public green areas, investee companies and the fish market; Nausicaa Cameliwhich will deal with community policies and PNRR funds, Europe office, culture, environment, green economy, relations with cultural and neighbourhood associations; Mark DiCarlowho remains councilor for tourism, events and major events, local police, roads and transport.
The mayor, thanking those who had successfully committed themselves in the previous administrative mandate, specified that the former councilors Giampiero Di Candido e Help Ciliberti and the former president of the city council Paul Vasanellathe latter present at yesterday morning’s press conference, «will remain privileged consultants and will be involved in all strategic choices».
The mayor kept the urban planning and commerce delegations to himself, and entrusted them to the young councilor Federico Montebello (“Obiettivo Giulia_Nova”) the delegations to sports and sports facilities. The most voted on the same list, Roberto Mastrilliformer councilor with the mayor Mastromauro, has been indicated as president of the city council.
