He was arrested by the carabinieri of the Latiano station and by those of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Company of San Vito dei Normanni, in the province of Brindisi, the 41-year-old man who left his wife on the brink of death on Tuesday evening, now hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the ‘Perrino’ hospital. A precautionary custody order in prison was carried out against her, issued by the judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Brindisi at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. He is accused of mistreatment and personal injury towards his wife. That evening, after receiving a report, they showed up at the couple’s home. After several attempts, the husband opened the door, reporting that his wife was not at home. Not convinced by the man’s statements, after a thorough inspection by the military, the woman was found in the garden of the same house, hidden under two sheets, with fractures and bruises all over her body, dying. The public prosecutor on duty at the Brindisi Public Prosecutor’s Office immediately activated the Red Code and, under the coordination of the Judicial Authority, investigations were started which led to the gathering of serious indications of guilt against the man.
