The sixth edition of Brianza Pride will be held on September 21st in Seregno, but the first stage of the approach is already scheduled in Monza today.

At the Rosmini Space in Monza, from 4.30 pm onwards, an afternoon dedicated to the drafting of the extended political manifesto, to which both those interested in gender policies and all citizens opposed to the continuation of the Pedemontana works, those who have a environmental protection, non-violence, pacifism, the resolution of conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine are at our heart. “We are part of Brianza and not a separate Brianza – points out Oscar Innaurato, president of Brianza Oltre l’Arcobaleno – As citizens we are worried about the environmental havoc which impacts 70% of the Parco Pane (between Bellusco, Vimercate and Carnate) and the mass expropriations that are being committed in Pedemontana”. “We don’t accept the resigned fatalism of those who say “they’ll do it anyway”, echoes Laura Papetti, representative of the No Pedemontana Committee, born in Vimercate to stop the short section D of the motorway and which finds the support of 11 mayors of Brianza. The citizens’ reasons for protest follow each other and join forces, because as Innaurato underlines there is no single-issue struggle, but it is necessary to broaden the centers of the mobilization, from the Pedemontana, considered a time bomb in the territory, to transfeminism in defense of the teenagers who feel they want to change sex, to anti-fascism and anti-mafia, because no one should feel on the geographical or racial margins.

Brianza Pride embraces the entire territory, for this reason it ranges from Monza to all of Brianza: in Monza the discomfort of transgender people is a minority, while in the towns of Brianza, where the majority of the population lives, there is still a lot of work to be done, to promote the culture of inclusion. For this combination of reasons, Brianza Pride will take place in Seregno; it will run for 2.8 kilometers, of which a part, about 1.5 kilometers, on the Pedemontana route, before returning to the Porada park, where the party will continue until the evening. During the event, a forest will be given away in Seregno. In fact, participants will be offered the opportunity to buy lilac and paulownia seedlings that will be planted in the Porada park during the party. As for the dress code of the day, the motto “Come as you are” applies as always.
