(Agen Food) – La Morra (Cn), 28 June – The Damilano Winery has been selected to represent Piedmont in the prestigious Casa Italia Wine List at the next Olympic Games, which will take place in Paris from 26 July to 11 August.

The Damilano Winery will be present with the Barolo DOCG “Lecinquevigne”an extraordinary wine, the result of a blend of grapes from vineyards located in the areas most suited to the cultivation of Nebbiolo grapes: Barolo and Grinzane Cavour.

“A recognition of the highest prestige for our winery; being present in the Casa Italia Paris 2024 Wine List not only testifies to the quality of our wines, but is part of a broader framework of promotion of the Italian food and wine heritage, strengthening the strategic role of Piedmontese agri-food, considered a fundamental asset for the regional and national economy” states Paolo Damilano, CEO of the company. “With over 500 DOP and IGP denominations, Italy stands out for its varied system of biodiversity and together with other wineries, we have a unique opportunity to promote Made in Italy and make the excellence of the sector known to the entire world.” concludes Paolo Damilano.

Barolo DOCG “Lecinquevigne” stands out for its ruby ​​red color and highly complex aromatic bouquet, with lively notes of spices and cedar, refined tannins and a direct and vertical finish.

The protagonist vintage will be 2020 which was characterized by an optimal climate trend that characterized all seasons. The Nebbiolo harvest took place in October and the grapes were in good condition with optimal chemical characteristics, perfect for wines suitable for long aging.

Casa Italia Paris 2024, the nerve center of Italian hospitality during the Olympic Games, will offer guests an experience of excellence thanks to the menu created by starred chef Davide Oldani. There will be twenty-nine wineries that will make up the wine list to enhance the peculiarities of each territory and be flags of the best of the country.

The selection of wines was curated by the consultancy firm LT Wine & Food Advisory, led by Lorenzo Tersi with the coordination of Luciano Ferraro and Valentina Fanti, who is also the Official Supplier of Casa Italia Parigi 2024.
