Virgilio council, first pieces: nine councillors, three reconfirmed

Three outgoing councilors are on the rise: Luca Burgazzi (Pd), Simona Pasquali (Pd) and Luca Zanacchi (Fare Nuova – Cremona Attiva). Out are those who have already served two terms in the Galimberti councils: Rosita Viola, Barbara Manfredini, Maurizio Manzi, Maura Ruggeri, the latter a veteran in the palace who had already expressed her desire to step down.

Andrea Virgilio’s council, which should confirm the number of 9 councillors, will not be definitively composed until the middle of next week, but the total number of appointments has already been raging for a few days. And it is affected by the wishes of those who release names, some of which are very unlikely.

Looking at the list votes, Sinistra per Cremona, which has had good success, should have a department as well as two councillors, and will probably go to Roberta Mozzi, a former director of Itis Torriani who retired a year ago and who could really take care of those which were Ruggeri’s delegations (Work – Educational Policies).

The Cremona sei Tu list could be awarded the presidency of the Council (Luciano Pizzetti) and a councilorship with Santo Canale: although not on the list in this round, Canale has had an important organizational role in it and has always been close to Pizzetti. His professional role in the Local Police of Bergamo sees him in pole position for the Security delegation.

So far the “almost certain” names. Those in the know assure that there will be at least one surprise outside the lists, as will the redistribution of the delegations which will certainly be reviewed. For example, those that Zanacchi was in charge of in the last mandate: neighborhoods, greenery, sports. But even Pasquali’s heavy delegations (Environment, mobility, among the most delicate issues for the impact on citizens) will probably be unpacked.

What face this new element will have in the Virgilio Council – which met with all the lists of its coalition on Thursday – will ultimately depend on the new mayor, called to mediate in a Democratic Party that must follow up on its electoral promises of change, but which cannot deny the past and which will probably also have to take into account the substantial balance between political forces that occurred in Cremona after the election results. gb
