The Marsala City Council approves PEF and TARI tariffs 2024

Having started the session with the apologies to the Chamber of the councilor R. Passalacqua (heated verbal clash with his colleague F. Coppola, who also spoke in reply), the work of the Marsala municipal council continued with the discussion of the resolution concerning the updating of the Financial economic plan (Pef), relating to the waste management service.

The measure was illustrated by the deputy mayor G. Tumbarello, and E. Martinico, P. Carnese, V. Milazzo, M. Rodriquez, N. Fici, G. Di Pietra and F. Coppola spoke, some several times. Regarding the technical aspects of the PEF, the president E. Sturiano gave the floor to the manager A. La Rocca who, in collaboration with the engineer. Giuseppe Alcamo, provided some clarifications to the Chamber regarding the increase in the economic and financial plan with regard to the waste management service (increase of approximately 1 million euros in 2024 and almost 500 thousand in 2025, for fee adjustments as provided by the ‘ARERA, additional services and rewards, as motivated by the deputy mayor). S. Agate spoke for his expertise, stating that the tariffs could be reviewed/modified – therefore return to the Chamber for a review – in light of the probable extension of the PEF, still under examination by the national Parliament. After a brief suspension of the works, they resumed with the vote and approval of the PEF. The House then moved on to vote on the 2024 tariff rates, which were also approved.
