Lecco is closer to the sea. In fact, FlixBus inaugurates direct connections between Lecco and Genoa to facilitate travel for those who will spend their holidays in Liguria. “The company thus intends to guarantee a travel solution without interruptions to those leaving from the territory – Flixbus Italia reports – and thus encourage a more environmentally friendly travel idea based on the use of collective means of transport and independent of the car private”.

The sea can be reached twice a day from via Balicco

Throughout the summer, Genoa will be reachable twice a day from the Via Balicco stop, near the train station. Of the two daily trips, one will leave in the morning at 6:40, allowing you to arrive at 11:00 in the Ligurian capital at the Via Fanti d’Italia stop, in the immediate vicinity of the Piazza Principe train station; the other trip will leave at 17:10, reaching Genoa at 21:30. The total duration of the trip is 4 hours and 20 minutes. Arriving at the Piazza Principe station will allow those leaving from Lecco to continue by train easily towards Ponente or Levante.

The tickets

Tickets can be purchased on the website, via the free FlixBus app and at physical retailers, with prices starting at 15.98 euros. FlixBus operates with a dynamic pricing model similar to that used by all major transport companies, according to which the price of the ticket increases as the bus fills up. By booking in advance, you can therefore get better fares.

“We want to allow anyone to move around easily, leaving the car at home, with an eye on the wallet but also on the environment – explains Andrea Incondi, managing director of FlixBus Italia – Also this summer, in addition to strengthening the connections with the most iconic holiday locations we wanted to promote lesser-known destinations to help valorise the national heritage to the fullest. In this way, we also wish to respond to the changing needs of travellers: today people are increasingly looking for virtuous and responsible forms of travel. , and want to experience their destination in an immersive way By shedding light on our country’s hidden gems, we want to support this vision.”

If we consider the emission factors in Europe, a personal car produces on average 166 grams of CO2 per passenger per km, while a FlixBus bus is characterized by an average emission factor of only 27.8 grams of CO2 per passenger per km, more than 5 times lower. “By choosing the bus over the car – the company reminds us – travellers will be able to reduce their impact at a low cost. The benefits of this approach to choosing the means of transport, which combines the needs of sustainability and economy, are especially visible in the long term: in 2023, those who chose FlixBus and FlixTrain over other solutions in the over 40 countries where the company operates, saved over 1 million tons of CO2, of which 152,000 in Italy alone”.
