The news was given by the vice-president of the M5S, sen. Mario Turco, who had presented that package as amendments to the Agriculture and Business Decree of strategic interest. A failure – underlines the MP from Taranto, who demonstrates “an unjustifiable lack of care towards the future of the city of Taranto and its hinterland”.
With these amendments, explains Turco, the first signatory of the same, the M5S would have liked to support “the workers and businesses of the territory, starting from those of the former Ilva sector in great difficulty, and favoring new settlements with the creation of the Urban Free Zone in the territories falling in the Sin area of Taranto”. On this occasion, the vice-president of the 5 Star Movement further underlines, “our industrial reconversion project was proposed again, putting the health of workers and citizens and the protection of the environment at the centre, as recently stated in a sentence of the EU Court. This majority, based on the policy of indifference, did not want to approve even a fund to support mussel farming. In the interest of Taranto and the citizens – concludes Turco – we will continue our battles”.
