Trapani, farewell to the historic DJ Aldo Papa

Aldo Papa turned 62 last December. Known throughout the province of Trapani as one of the first DJs and vocalists who made the history of discos in the area. Passionate about music at 360°, already at the age of 16 he sang, played the drums and began frequenting musical and radio circles.

He set foot on the radio for the first time in his mid-teens and fell madly in love with headphones and microphones. Those were the days of “Radio Trapani Centrale”, a love for the radio that accompanied him throughout his life and that led him to be a protagonist in various historic radio stations in the area: from Radio Scirocco to Tele Radio Mediterranea passing through TRV and, most recently, the online radio Zak Radio.

From the radio to the disco Aldo Papa characterized the 80s and 90s and even there his mastery with the turntables and the mixer led him to be the creator of the entertainment of many generations, from the “Happy Feet” disco to the Noise experiment Organization with his friend Rino Candia to the Millenium nightclub in Cornino. He turned into a musical entertainer with the group “EXTRALARGE” and soon returned to the music scene of the new millennium, just because as he himself said… “MUSIC HAS NEVER HURT ANYONE”.

Aldo Papa passed away today, killed by a heart attack.

But his music and his voice will accompany us for many years to come.

Tomorrow it will be possible to give him a final farewell in the farewell room of the Polisano funeral home at Casa Santa Erice.
