MASSA – The round of water meter readings by the water manager Gaia spa in the municipalities of Massa and Montignoso has begun. The readings, which will affect over 43,000 users, began on June 19th and will end by August 19th. It is useful to know that the technicians responsible for reading Gaia meters are equipped with an identification card with photograph and name. In case of absence of the user, the technicians leave a paper notice.
Reading is done using the photoreading system, i.e. taking digital photographs of the meter dial and its identification number, with the date and time of the reading and its geographical coordinates. The photoreading system allows you to limit even the smallest percentage of errors in readings, as well as easily document and archive the user’s consumption. By regulation, the manager is required to carry out two readings per year, but the user can still carry out self-reading of the meter by calling the toll-free number 800-004200 and indicating the data relating to the reading of their meter. Alternatively, it is possible to carry out self-reading via SMS, by sending a message to the number 3385009884 in the format “telephone reading code-space-reading” (cost of SMS depending on your tariff plan. The 16-digit telephone reading code is shown on the first page of Gaia’s bill).
It is also possible to do the self-reading via the app, which can be downloaded from iOS and Android. The first page of the bill also indicates the best period for the self-reading to be valid from the next billing. The self-reading allows you to avoid having to pay advance payments on your bill, and to notice any anomalous consumption in time, for example caused by a hidden water leak. Gaia spa also reminds you of the other toll-free numbers: 800-223377 for user advice and 800-234567 for emergencies and breakdowns.
