The wave of bad weather that led to the storm on Tuesday 25 June in Rovigo and other municipalities, although over, still leaves visible and obvious damage to homes and residents.
Faced with the count of problems to be solved, many questions remain about the road and sewerage management of the capital; clogged manholes, blocked drains, slime, mud and foliage seem to have worsened or, at least, not facilitated the normal flow of water. These are the points to improve and control which, according to the opinion of those who have seen several centimetres of water enter their homes or cellars/garages, the new council of Palazzo Nodari will have to take into account. “I live in the historic centre, I went down to the tavern and the water was up to my knees” she underlines Laurahoping: “It will be necessary to adequately arrange the sewer systems, taking into account that we are, territorially, between two rivers, the Adige and the Po”.
While highlighting the extraordinary nature of the event and the weather conditions that hit Rovigo, Domenico he comments: “I suffered a lot of damage because water entered the goods warehouse, we will need to study methods of disposing of water in the river courses in such a way as to allow the drains to be well cleaned and free”.
Per Andrea: “There is a need for continuous cleaning of all those elements that are used to drain water from the road surface”, while, Stefanoobserving the neighborhood where he lives, notes: “The drains are constantly clogged and full of grass”. “These are aspects that will have to be fixed – he continues – to avoid a problem similar to the one that happened a few days ago from happening again”.
Cleaning and control, therefore, are the key words for the people of Rovigo: two important points of work that the new government will find on the working table.
