He returns with his mission to enhance the natural and historical theaters of Umbria through the thousand nuances of music, among exceptional guests, artists of the highest level and young talents. Everything is ready for the eighth edition of the International Green Music Festival, conceived and directed by Maurizio Mastrini, an internationally renowned Umbrian pianist and composer. Yesterday he presented the 2024 programme, full of stars and news with 55 concerts throughout the region, always with free admission. “Many appointments are being added in these days after the end of the local elections. The most recent new entry is Paciano which brings the municipalities involved to 16” said Mastrini together with the president of the Region Donatella Tesei and Francesca Caproni of Gal Trasimeno-Orvieto.

Green Music opens this Sunday at 6.30pm with the Oscar Movies Ensemble concert at Palazzo Orca in Città della Pieve in a cultural-musical journey on the history and importance of soundtracks in cinema. The flagship will be the concert of the Oscar winner Nicola Piovani at the Solfagnano Castle on August 19th, among the flagship events Mastrini proudly remembers the percussionist Tony Esposito with the flamenco guitarist Juan Lorenzo in Bettona on August 1st, Fabio Concato in Castiglione del Lago on 2 August, Luca Barbarossa in Bevagna on 11 August. And then an unpublished project, on the zero date of a tour, with Mastrini himself together with Alessandro Haber on Thursday 4 July in the recital “Mia Cara Amatissima…” at the Umbraflor nursery in Spello, where a cypress theater will be set up.

And again, the concert on August 10th “Tango Sensations” in homage to Astor Piazzolla with the bandoneonist Fabio Furia at Castello di Montali, the Duo Zunino on August 16th for a Sound Dawn from the Rocca di Passignano but also the concert in the “Teatro di Paglia” on 18 August entitled “The four seasons… Not those of the past”, with the quintet of Piero Rotolo and Colonel Mario Giuliacci who will explain the phenomenon of climatic variations. And then the “Goodnight Concert” in the Bosco Fai of San Francesco di Assisi, the candle concerts, the closing evening set for September 14th in Panicale. There will be space for new talents, often opening concerts in a festival also loved by tourists. “Green – says Mastrini – indicates attention to the environment, to the valorisation of our spaces and to free entry for all”.
