“Little ones teach us wonder” – Municipality of Andria

18 shows, 2 concerts, 3 thematic meetings, 15 workshops, 3 installations, 15 hosted companies (12 from Italy and 3 from abroad: Belgium, Austria, India), 40 guest artists, 500 tickets sold, 8 locations of which 7 in public places, 3 squares, 6 national partner entities, 12 local associations involved. These are the numbers of the third edition of Tempo dei Piccoli, which just ended in Andria. Transformed into a Child City, Andria welcomed more than two thousand visitors between adults and children and confirms itself as a City for the inclusion of all diversities and fragilities. The Il Tempo dei Piccoli caravan ran through four cities for a month: Ruvo, Terlizzi, Corato and Andria. Four mayors, four councilors, four places who have decided to carry out a project together, to transform themselves into Children’s Cities because a city suitable for children is more inclusive for everyone. Now that the construction sites have been dismantled, the theater is at rest in its warehouse and the think tank has returned to the realm of ideas in which it was born, it is time to enjoy the best memories of the last stage of the journey into the Time of the Little Ones 2024.
Andria, thanks to the will of the Mayor Giovanna Bruno and the Councilor for Beauty Daniela Di Bari, hosted this childhood celebration for the third time and thus continues a path that began some time ago that looks in a specific direction: to include all diversities , welcoming fragility and educating in wonder.
«The little ones participated and invited them to participate with laughing eyes of wonder – says Beauty Councilor Daniela Di Bari – They reminded us of the amazement towards small things, playing together, thinking alone and together, being free, the desire to be present in decisions and proposals, the attention to listening and trusting the paths proposed in the live show, on the street, on the construction site, in the installations, in the laboratories, gave us full breath precisely by immersing ourselves in the small things like the theatre, the labyrinth, the puppet theater to be observed and listened to through small windows. They reminded us of the need for a slow time, a necessary time, a time in which to dedicate ourselves and others and let ourselves be accompanied by the different arts. A time to bow to love – concludes Di Bari – to childhood, to peace, a time full of utopia, beauty, future, imagination, poetry, eutopia. Thank you Città Bambina, continuing to give space and time to all this is the path to a happy city in a workmanlike manner.”
This revolution has opened the doors of many public places in the city, such as Castel del Monte with the contemplation of the stars together with the students of the teacher Emma Castelnuovo; the Ex Mattatoio with the funny Okidoks arriving from Belgium amidst somersaults and laughter, the Evelina Centvestiti show to talk about social inclusion; the Cloister of San Francesco with the magical Cantiere Città Bambina, the Octagonal Pensatory, workshops, shows, music and a labyrinth to rediscover the beauty of getting lost; the Officina San Domenico with music from far away and shows for very little ones; the courtyard of the Municipal Library which hosted the Smallest Theater in the World for three days with its Totò of the trees, a more unique than rare experience to listen to the story of the Baron in the Trees in a very small Elizabethan theatre; and again Largo Giannotti which welcomes spectators of small cinemas and traveling theaters in its narrow streets; and finally the Villa Comunale which for the occasion has become a vegetal theater in which to experience a sensorial journey. The thanks of this administration goes to all and everyone who made this revolution possible. Il tempo dei Piccoli is an initiative organized by the Kuziba company with the direction of Bruno Soriato. Conceived by Carlo Bruni and developed in the context of the Garibaldi System. It turns into a collective experiment thanks to the surprising enthusiasm of a heterogeneous working group and the support of the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Foundation, Progetto Lego, Megamark, Agrolio, Granoro and Roberika.
