the arrival of the summer season, the Paradisia Alpine Botanical Garden, located at 1,700 meters above sea level in the enchanting Valnontey in Cogne, reopens its doors to nature lovers. This botanical paradise not only offers a breathtaking display of blooms, but also represents an important center for the conservation of mountain and Alpine biodiversity.

The Garden is home to around 1,000 plant species from all over the world, carefully cultivated to preserve their diversity and stimulate knowledge. Each visit is a journey through the Alpine environments, where you can admire not only flowers with evocative names such as the Paradisia (Paradisea liliastrum), but also explore and understand the unique ecosystems of the Alps.

This summer, the Botanical Garden is home to the “Nature in Evolution” exhibition, organized in collaboration with the BioMA Association and the Gran Paradiso National Park. These events are designed for all ages and offer the opportunity to explore fascinating topics such as communication between plants and insects, as well as discovering the secret world of soil microorganisms. Detailed information and methods of participation are available on www.pngp.it/natura-in-evolution.

Thanks to the “Digitourism” project of the Fondation Grand Paradis, visitors can enjoy a unique augmented reality experience inside the Garden. By scanning QR Codes with a smartphone, it is possible to observe blooms in 3D and learn more about plants in an interactive way.

Entrance to the Botanical Garden includes the possibility of taking part in guided tours conducted by experts at set times. It is also possible to explore the Garden independently using the official “Paradisia” web app, available at https://paradisiapp.pngp.it/.

  • From 1st to 30th June and 1st September: 10am – 5.30pm
