CIVITA CASTELLANA – Double victory for Luigi Gallo at the National GT Challenge in Misano Adriatico. A dream weekend for the Civito driver who took home two victories in both races on the Romagna circuit, climbing to first place in the championship standings. The Misano Adriatico circuit is the second stage of the National GT Challenge 2024, which saw the triumph of the Ferrari 488 Challenge EVO of Team Bestlap. The second round was played from June 21st to June 23rd.

It was truly a fantastic weekend for us – these are the words of the winner Luigi Gallo – it was an important weekend for us, because it was a card we had to play in view of the championship leadership. We as a team studied this race very well, putting together a series of data that we needed to close the weekend in a positive way.”

Already during Friday’s free practice, the Civitonic driver had a great feeling with the car, immediately placing himself at the top of the standings. The first race took place on Saturday evening at night, where the driver had placed third in qualifying. The race for Gallo was quite calm: “During the race on Saturday night we were “lucky” due to some technical problems of my direct rival in the championship – continues the Civitoni driver – For this reason the race was very calm and we were able to maintain a much slower pace, managing to win and maintain second place in the overall race classification.”

The second race took place during the afternoon of Sunday 23 June, where Gallo managed to repeat the victory, also taking advantage of the pole position he had managed to obtain with a time of 1’38’393. This time, however, the race for Gallo was much closer: “On Sunday I managed to start in front of my opponent who followed me close to my car throughout the race without ever breaking away. We both maintained a very tight pace, and it was a very tactical and demanding race. During the race I managed to maintain a couple of seconds gap between myself and my opponent, which allowed me to always maintain the lead of the race. However, we bring home a magnificent result which gives us hope for victory both in the National GT Challenge championship and in the internal championship that we do with the Ferrari Club Italia.”

With the two victories Luigi Gallo climbs to first place in the championship in the National GT Challenge and now, after the summer break, we are preparing for the Vallelunga race in September: “Vallelunga is my home circuit for me – concludes the Civiton driver – But it is also for my championship contender, so it won’t be an easy one. Furthermore, the Vallelunga circuit favors the technical characteristics of both Porsche and Lamborghini rather than Ferrari. This doesn’t worry us, but it still pushes us to work well. We will certainly do some tests, with an intermediate test that will allow us to refine our weapons and prepare ourselves as best we can for this new battle.”
