Yesterday morning they did not go unnoticed when Lucca’s criminal lawyers launched a marathon oratory in via Beccheria, in view of the strike on 10, 11 and 12 July. “At the conclusion of the oratorical marathon which began last May 29th and which arrived in the historic center of Lucca yesterday, with which it was intended to publicly denounce – so the criminal lawyers – the lack of a program of serious structural reforms and rethinking of the entire criminal execution, as well as the irresponsible indifference of politics in the face of the drama of overcrowding and the tragedy of suicide phenomena, the Union resolves to abstain from hearings and from any judicial activity in the criminal sector for the days 10, 11 and 12 July 2024, with convocation of all the Presidents of the territorial Criminal Chambers and of all the members, in Rome to participate in the event, which will be held with all the associations sensitive to this emergency and with the political representatives in favor of the adoption of immediate tools, aimed at solution to the ongoing crisis, in Piazza dei Santi Apostoli. The appointment in this case is for July 11th.”
