MOLFETTA – The crime alarm is growing in Molfetta. Now we have also reached the point of kidnapping children to extort money. It happened a few days ago on the seafront where a 33-year-old man already known to justice stopped three boys, insulting them and then capturing one of them, threatening the others not to leave him until they gave him 40 euros, perhaps recovering them from a ATM. But, while the man was waiting for the money, a report was received to the police who rushed to the seafront to hunt for the criminal who, at the sight of the soldiers, dropped the boy and tried to escape. The police stopped him and arrested him: he is a man who, in addition to having a criminal record, had an obligation to stay, which he violated. In the barracks he also attempted to attack the soldiers who added to the charges of extortion, kidnapping, violation of the obligation to stay and the ban on leaving at night, also that of resisting a public official.
