“I’ll tell you… the Merry Widow!” – Friulisera

The FVG Orchestra brings the Allegra Vedova, the most famous operetta in the world, to the stage in the form of a stage concert for an exciting summer evening on the hill of Udine Castle.

Appointment for Sunday 30 June at 9.30pm with “I’ll tell you about… the Merry Widow!” : 118 years after its debut at the Theater An der Wien in Vienna in 1905, the story revolves around the love affair of the rich heiress Hanna Glawary and her eternal suitor, Count Dànilo Danilowitsch: a romantic affair not without its humorous moments by the extraordinary music of the great Hungarian composer Franz Lehár.

On stage the FVG Orchestra directed by Maestro Romolo Gessi with the voices of Selma Pasternak, Andrea Binetti, Gualtiero Giorgini, Ilaria Zanetti, Filippo Pina Castiglioni, Alessio Colautti and Marzia Postogna, and with the dancers Noemi Gaggi and Lara Cozzolino.

Directed by Andrea Binetti, the show sees the main characters of the operetta on stage, who will lead the audience into the story set in a nocturnal Paris where there are intrigues between couples, frivolous women and stupid men, a humanity which reflects the decadence of the aristocratic world. All bathed in champagne and enlivened by the famous and captivating can-can dance.

The concert is organized by the Bon Foundation as part of the Armonie in Città event. In case of bad weather, the show will move to the Palamostre Theatre. Tickets can be purchased on the Vivaticket circuit or at the theater box office.
