Holiday dialysis, the ASL Gallura service starts again from 1st July
The service starts again from July 1st Holiday dialysis aimed at tourists who choose the Gallura to spend the summer period. The Gallura Local Health Authority has approved the project of the Nephrology and Dialysis Operational Unit. They will be destined additional resources to the staff who have joined. The service will be available at Olbia it’s at Temple. Both tourists from Alta Gallura and those from the coastal area will be able to carry out the therapies in the nearest centres.
“This is an activity that we have been carrying out for several years and that has not stopped even during the Covid period. Despite the serious shortages in terms of personnel that the Health Service is facing in this historical moment. We will be able to count on the support of nurses and oss, both of which are fundamental figures. The people to be assisted – he underlines Lucia Burrai, director of the Nephrology and Dialysis Operational Unit – are affected by chronic pathologies and most are advanced in age: for this reason in many cases a strong synergy between the two professionals is required. Extra sessions will be held in the afternoon. At the moment, based on the applications received, we have estimated the presence of about a hundred patients to undergo dialysis treatments”.

This service – state the Gallura Local Health Authority – becomes essential for the protection of the right to health, but also for the image of our island which is chosen by many Italians and foreigners as a holiday destination. In this way we allow patients to overcome one of the main ones logistical difficulties related to the pathologygiving them the certainty of therapy even during the holidays. But another objective is also pursued, that of the inclusion of those who, thanks to this project, will be able to take their holiday in the chosen place like everyone else”.
