He had killed his partner Rossella Cominotti with a razor and had watched over her body for two days in a hotel room. Then, not being able to kill himself as he would have liked, he went on the run, which was interrupted a few hours later by the police. Today Alfredo Zenucchi agreed to a three-year and six-month sentence, a plea agreement accepted today by the preliminary hearing judge Marinella Acerbi in the court hearing in La Spezia.

The charge is murder by consent. The story dates back to last December 8, when the body of a woman was found in a hotel room in Mattarana, in the hinterland of La Spezia. His companion, Alfredo Zenucchi, was arrested and initially accused of voluntary homicide.

The investigations by the Prosecutor’s Office and Carabinieri of La Spezia have ascertained the version provided by the man, later supported by a writing left by the woman: the two would have decided to end it together, due to debts accumulated after taking over a business in Bonemerse, in province of Cremona where they resided. The judge’s decision in chambers arrived today. Zenucchi has been in prison for six months: the lawyers have asked for his release.
