Lamezia Terme – An investment plan of 270 million euros, including a capital increase of 75 million. This is one of the points on the agenda of the Sacal shareholders’ meeting which in recent weeks has seen all the main shareholders, as well as the sole director Marco Franchini, sit around a table. All the administrators were present, including the mayor of Lamezia, Paolo Mascaro.

It was Franchini’s turn to take stock of the present and immediate future of the airport company that manages the three Calabrian airports including the only international hub of Lamezia Terme on which Franchini confirmed all the ongoing logistics planning – namely the work on the passenger area – and future ones – the creation of a hangar for aircraft maintenance. And precisely on Lamezia, Franchini highlighted that to date the total investments amount to 144 million and made explicit reference to the contraction of passengers with the commitment to identify new carriers and consolidate the route to Toronto.

The meeting also resolved to appoint Mauro Bolla as commercial director, and then focused on the modification of article 18 and the provision that the company can be managed by a Board of Directors made up of three or five members. In the first case, two members belong to the Municipality of Lamezia Terme and the Calabria Region, with a board of five, one member will belong to the Municipality of Lamezia Terme, one to the Calabria Region, one will be designated in rotation by the other public shareholders, and two with a favorable vote of at least 60% of the shareholders. The shareholders then proceed to discuss the capital increase of over 75 million for a total of 145,068 new shares, aimed at financing the investment plan and which will be offered to shareholders in proportion to the capital currently held.
