Three days of meetings and tastings between Molo Dalmazia and the Fish Market, with themed food stands

In Marina di Ravenna, three days of celebration dedicated to wild mussels, a true excellence of the area, including dedicated meetings, tastings and excursions at sea. The event will be held in the midst of the annual mussel harvest, from Friday 28 June to Sunday 30 in the Molo Dalmazia area, with a preview at Finisterre Beach on Friday 27th.

This is the eleventh edition of the Wild Mussel Festival, accompanied this year by a fundraiser in memory of Loris Barberini, a fisherman-musselro of Marina di Ravenna. The funds raised will be used to purchase a defibrillator which will be placed in the fish market area. In front of the fishing dock, between the Dalmazia Pier and the former Fish Market, meetings, show cooking and tastings will be held at the food stands. The stands will be managed by: Aurora Osteria & Cultura; L’Acciuga Osteria; Finisterre Beach Restaurant; Food Truck Savut; Fishermen from Marina di Ravenna; Ravenna Covered Market Restaurant.

The party program:

Thursday 27, from 7pm, preview at Finisterre Beach, with a mussel-based menu at the all-inclusive price of €35. The tasting includes a standing aperitif (cevichedi mussels; cdamn Fried with seaweed mayonnaise; cdamn gratinated; mussel skewer; served with a glass of Baldan) and a dinner served at the table (mussel soup, potato foam and wild fennel; mussel amatriciana with Erica Liverani’s extruded pasta, San Patrignano crostini with mussels bourguignonne and wild herbs; squacquerone ice cream from Sbrino , samphire and mulberry jam. Served with a bottle at the table).

Friday 28th, at the Molo Dalmazia (6pm) inauguration of the party, with the presentation of the book “Io Cucino La Selvaggia di Marina di Ravenna” a new volume with 14 recipes printed for the occasion which will be given to those present, together with a tasting of mussels.

Saturday 29th, at 10 am, sea excursion on the boat, in collaboration with Eni. During the guided tour, you will approach a platform and watch a demonstration of mussel harvesting with underwater fishermen. During the same excursion, you will also watch the release into the sea of ​​some specimens of sea turtles, after the care received by Cestha. At 6:30 pm (Fish Market Atrium) the meeting with the mussel farmers “From the market to the table there is the sea in between”, to investigate this season’s harvest. Giuseppe Prioli, biologist and president of the Consorzio Mussel Coltori dell’Emilia-Romagna; Simone D’Acunto, Cestha director; Patrizia Masetti, head of the fishing sector of Agci; Mirco Bagnari, head of the fishing sector of Legacoop Romagna; Barbara Monti, president of Slow Food Ravenna. Followed by a tasting of mussels by chef Rovena Mehemeti (Circolo Aurora). From 6pm to 7pm (Fish Market-Cestha) happy hour with sea turtles.

The event ends on Sunday 3rd, at 6.30pm with “The Seasonality of the Sea”, a meeting on the seasonality of fish and mussels with the cozzaro Sauro Alleati, from the Cooperativa La Romagnola and the fisherman Roberto Melandri. This is followed by a tasting of mussels prepared by chef Matteo Salbaroli of Acciuga Osteria.
