The Free Municipal Consortium of Trapani has established the procedure for the concession of the “Provinciale” to the Football Club Trapani 1905 company for another two years. The club, under the leadership of president Valerio Antonini, has expressed its intention to manage the city’s stadium for a period sufficient to justify further investment.
Recently, Antonini presented a renovation project for the stadium, with an estimated budget of between 25 and 28 million euros. This project involves an expansion of the capacity of the facility, bringing it to approximately 20,000 covered seats. Additionally, it includes a number of infrastructure improvements to increase revenue and improve the viewer experience.
Although the club has already invested around 3 million euros in the renovation and beautification of the stadium before the start of the season, the owner has announced a public notice for expressions of interest in the concession. The Free Consortium has recognized that, at the moment, no other expressions of interest have been received, leaving room for the request for a biennial renewal made by Trapani.
The concession request, presented last April 8, was examined in light of the conditions of the previous concession, which expired on July 19, 2023. The Granata company has demonstrated its willingness to continue to improve and maintain the facility, making it safer, more welcoming and equipped with greater comfort for fans and athletes.
The next step in the procedure will be further negotiation to define the details of the temporary concession. The Free Municipal Consortium of Trapani, represented by the architect Massimo Gandolfo, is responsible for supervising the process, ensuring that all operations take place in a transparent manner and in compliance with current regulations.
With the end of the 2023/2024 season, which saw Trapani’s return to Serie C, the renewal of the Provincial Stadium concession represents an important opportunity for the club to consolidate its position.
