“Today more than ever, the message of trust, hope and love for life that our president Daniela leaves behind, accompany with more strength and determination the action of ACTO Sicily, alongside the many women who fight every day against ovarian cancer, and to raise awareness of the knowledge and prevention of a pathology that is still too underestimated “. In a note, the board of the association ACTO Sicilia, (Alliance Against Ovarian Cancer) composed of the vice president Annamaria Motta, professor Paolo Scollo, director of the Cannizzaro UO of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Giusy Scandurra, UOC director of Medical Oncology of the Cannizzaro Hospital in Catania, the councilors Ivan Albo, Stefania Spampinato, Giuseppe Scibilia, and all the members of the Technical-Scientific Committee, cling to the family of the president Daniela Spampinato, who unfortunately lost her battle after 5 years of illness.

Catanese, 51, biologist Daniela Spampinato leaves her husband and two teenage children. She has five years during which she never gave up, giving life in 2021 to the SICILY section of the ACTO association, through which she organized large-scale initiatives that involved the entire community across the board.

“She left us – comments the vice president Annamaria Motta – a dear friend, a traveling companion and a volcanic guide of our association. Daniela did not let her commitment fail, in a gesture of love and generosity, which today takes on the meaning of the handing over of witness that we will all collect. We will miss her very much, but if it is true that life also continues through memory, then we will do everything every day to nourish her ”.
