ALHA Airport strike in Fiumicino on 5 July

Cub Trasporti has called a 4-hour STRIKE of workers at Alha Airport Fiumicino for FRIDAY 5 JULY 2024, from 1pm to 5pm.

It was not possible to proclaim an abstention from work for 24 hours, as Law 146/90 and L.83/00, which define the methods and timing of the exercise of the right to strike in Italy (… legislation among the most restrictive in Europe!), require that the first fight proclamation cannot exceed 4 hours in total.

LA Cub Trasporti called this mobilization initiative in response to the refusal of Alha Airport Fco, formalized during the meeting in the Prefecture of Rome for the completion of the conciliation attempt, to start the discussion on the following issues:

  • Calculation of overtime increases on the current hourly wage instead of 2016
  • Payment of increases in the daily allowance in a single payment;
  • Adaptation of the room where workers can eat their meal to existing regulations
  • Improvement of hygienic and health conditions in the workplace
  • Guarantee of protection of the health and safety of workers
  • Recognition of the entire seniority accrued by staff during the execution of temporary contracts
  • Arrangement for PPE washing and payment to workers for damages for failure to wash staff work clothes.

It is significant to underline that, in addition to the unacceptable refusal to encourage the improvement of working conditions and wages for workers at Fiumicino, in analogy to what was carried out at Malpensathe statements made by the representatives of Alha Airport Fco before the Prefecture of Rome, in particular regarding the levels of environmental hygiene and preparation/sanitisation/cleaning of the room used for consuming the meal, not were found to be truthfulas some workers on duty at the Leonardo da Vinci freight yard were able to verify.

Cub Trasporti invites the workers of Alha Airport Fiumicino to join the STRIKE ON FRIDAY 5 JULY 2024 FROM 1PM TO 5PM and to participate in theSTRIKE MEETING – FRIDAY 5 JULY – 1PM TO 5PM. (it will take place in the immediate vicinity of the entrance to the Fiumicino freight terminal)

On this occasion the Cub Trasporti law firm will launch THE COLLECTION OF LEGAL MANDATORS of those who wish to initiate an appeal to claim the damage produced to workers for failure to wash PPE (…the calculation will concern up to 10 years before the request is sent to the company!).
