Tricolor event branded Lega Uisp Massa Montignoso. Our city will be the protagonist in the weekend of the 2024 National Road Championship for the Uisp amateur cycling category. The event, organized by the Versilapuano association in collaboration with Apua Team, Velo Sport Casone and Velo Club Carrara, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, was presented at the school field in the presence of the sports councilor Roberto Acerbo who brought greetings from the mayor Persiani. Great satisfaction from the Uisp patron Giorgio Berti: “For me, as president of the Uisp of Massa, Carrara and Montignoso, it is a prestigious achievement that repays the daily effort, sacrifice and commitment, necessary to promote amateur sport at all levels through co-design and co-programming”.
The organizer Bernardo Simoncini, the councilor of the organizing team, explained how the two days of races will develop: “I have always been responsible for safety in cycling races in our area and this time too the primary objective was with Bellè, VersilApauano and the president Luca Verona is to think above all about guaranteeing the safety of the participants. We will follow a circuit already used in previous races, but this time we will cross over to Carrara. The route will be repeated 8 times by all the categories involved with a longer final lap for the… less young people We will have 25 people on foot along the route, 10-12 service motorbikes, 2 ambulances with as many doctors. At the moment there are 110 registered but in the previous edition we reached 330. We will reward the top 7 in all categories, with a ceremony that will take place. will take place at the school field where we will also award the tricolor champion’s shirt”.
Luca Verona, president of VersilApuano, was also satisfied: “The hope is to have the support of the citizens for the success of the event which will occupy the streets of the city. We will do our best to create a wonderful competition. We are happy to have at our disposal alongside the institutions starting from the mayor, the president of the Province and above all the Uisp”. Also present at the ceremony were Uisp vice president Arturo Alberti, the president of the Velo Club Carrara Adolfo Casotti and Luciano Bellè, head of the cycling activity structure.
