Lecce scores two more transfer successes. They are the German goalkeeper Christian Fruchtl and the Angolan defender Kalionda Gaspar. Frucht yesterday signed a contract until 2027, with an option for two subsequent years. This morning he will undergo medical examinations. Gaspar, on the other hand, in these hours should carry out the same procedure, but reversing the order.

Christian Fruchtl is a 24 year old German goalkeeper from Austria Vienna. During his career he wore the shirt of the youth teams of Bayern Munich and the national team, before moving on to the big boys of the Bavarian club where he was second to Neuer. This year twenty-nine games played in the Austrian Bundesliga with 29 goals conceded and 13 games finished with a clean sheet. Four appearances also in the Europa League qualifiers, and three in the playoffs. One meter and ninety-three meters tall, like Gaspar, who adds physical prowess and centimeters in the defensive department. Obviously the conclusion of this negotiation could mean that Falcone would be close to wearing another shirt and this would reshape the entire Giallorossi defense, with the consequent variable of unpredictability. These are early assessments but they must be made. Especially in a period in which the market is open and many operations are being carried out. The next few days will clarify many aspects. However, it seems difficult for two number 1s to compete for the Lecce goal.
Gaspar
At the same time, the negotiation for the Angolan defender Kalionda Gaspar, currently playing for Estrela Amadora, would be in the pipeline. The player, who will turn 27 in September, is a central defender who can play on the right or left. If Gotti decides to stay with the formation seen in the last few days, i.e. with the 4-2-3-1, Gaspar can be used in both positions; the same goes if he were to switch to his congenial 3-5-2. These too are premature assessments. What is certain, if the negotiation were to conclude positively, is that Gaspar will take a place in the defensive department starting as a natural replacement for Baschirotto and Pongracic, ready to become the starter if one of the two were to leave. Which is very likely, especially for the Croatian, even after the good match played against Italy in the third round of the Euro 2024 qualifying round. Gaspar was born on 27 September 1997 in Dundo, Angola. Last season, in the Portuguese Serie A, he was the protagonist of 27 matches, also scoring one goal. Nine times he ended up in the referee’s notebook, collecting as many yellow cards, but no red ones. In his career, he wore the Angolan national team shirt 20 times, even scoring one goal. His market value is around one and a half million euros, a figure not far from which Lecce is negotiating him with his original team.
